The Woman Behind ZBiz Solutions

For the past year, we have all been working hard to achieve our personal goals and dreams. Some of us have been aiming for a career progression, some have been planning to start a business, while others might have planned of taking a break.

At ZBiz Solutions, there is one particular individual who has been working hard to grow not only herself, but also the people around her.

Before this year ends, we were lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to conduct a short interview with the one and only pillar of ZBiz Solutions. Let’s all get to know our President and CEO, Ms Ehden Pelaez.

Q: Can you tell us your ‘Eureka moment’ about how ZBiz Solutions started?

EHDEN: I had this ‘Eureka moment” even before ZBiz was established. For a decade, I have been busy day in and day out managing a pool of analysts, translators, writers and support staff across Asia. Interacting with team members, who came from all walks of life, and seeing how thankful they are for the opportunity given to them, to earn while working from home, made me realize that I can do more to reach more people. I have also witnessed how some of the team members who I mentored blossom into leaders themselves. It dawned on me how many deserving but underprivileged individuals can excel should they be given a chance and a proper avenue to be trained and to apply their new-learned skills. Yet it took a while before I had the courage to act on this Eureka moment. There were times when I doubted myself if I could pull this through but with the support of family and friends, ZBiz Solutions is here now.

Q: What do you want to achieve when you started ZBiz Solutions?

EHDEN: I want to provide more opportunities to those who are deprived of having a career due to their disability or for being undergraduates. I hope ZBiz can be a tool to empower people and boost their self-esteem.

Q: Why did you want to focus on MSMEs/SMEs?

EHDEN: According to the World Bank, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a major role in most economies, particularly in developing countries. SMEs account for the majority of businesses worldwide and are important contributors to job creation and global economic development. They represent about 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide. I hope ZBiz becomes part of this 50% and be a trusted parther of MSMEs’ path to growth and stability. MSMEs and startups oftentimes are the ones requiring support as they scale up, sometimes faster than planned and I want ZBiz to be there and be one of the helping hands from our pool of trained individuals, who are also hoping to have a breakthrough in their careers.

Q: 2022 is going to end in a few days. What is ZBiz Solutions’ goal for 2023?

EHDEN: To have the ZBiz Training Academy up and running. Of course, also to get more support for our social advocacy of upskilling PWDs to help them become financially independent.

Q: Christmas is around the corner, if you are three years old, what do you think you will wish from Santa and why?

EHDEN: The three-year-old in me will definitely wish for a big, soft and fluffy pillow! For a good night sleep, be recharged and be ready to face another day!
